Van Halen MIDI Files

All of the following MIDI files were done by me, Mike Heasley. They are all unfinished, but feel free to have a listen. If you'd like to put them on your own website, all I ask is that you give me credit for creating them. Obviously Van Halen gets the writing credits...

My primary goal with these is accuracy. Well, as accurate as you can get with MIDI. Thus they take a lot of time to get right. Also I have about 30 or 40 other unfinished original song projects going, not to mention everything else in my life... So don't ask me when these will be finished! ;-)

General MIDI version

Feb. 27, 1999 This is the first 1:30 of the song, through the first chorus. If you have a GS compatible sound card or synthesizer, click on the Dreams link. This version is slightly enhanced, using a better synth strings patch and a guitar pick scrape sound, both of which are not available under General MIDI. If you are not sure, try both and see if there is any difference. The GS version should sound fine on a General MIDI device, but I include a special General MIDI version just in case.
Not Enough 1996? My intent with this file was to create a MIDI file that I could play along with on my guitar. Thus there is no guitar part in the file. If I ever finish it, I may make a second version with the guitar in it. We'll see... This one stops abruptly at about 2:30.
Neworld Mar. 18, 1998 This is just the introduction of the song, until just before the guitar begins to play the melody. About 0:15.
Once Aug. 16, 1998 The introduction to the song, the first 0:39 until just before the first verse.
How Many Say I Mar. 25, 1998 Over half the song, until just before the interlude after the second chorus. About 3:23. I tried to use the instruments that sounded closest to Ed's and Gary's voices on my synthesizer. They may not sound quite as good on yours...
